Breaking ground on new subdivision

Work on a new subdivision of 20 homes in Portland began Friday, joining the list of building projects going on in the city.

BayPoint at North Shore, a gated community near the North Shore Country Club Golf Course, will feature homes with lots starting at $600,000.

Bob Brown, of Bob Brown Builder Inc., will custom-build the homes with a minimum square footage requirement of 3,000 square feet.

Brown said the homes will be built using a "green concept."

"The trend of builders across the nation is to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and we are bringing this concept to Portland," Brown said. Four of the 20 lots have been sold, according to Brown.
